Ingredients
- 3 large ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (113 g)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed (150 g)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (5 ml)
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (180 g)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (170 g)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mash the bananas in a large bowl until mostly smooth.
- Add the melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla and whisk until combined.
- Add the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gently mix until just combined.
- Fold in 3/4 cup of the chocolate chips, reserving the rest for the top.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips over the top.
- Bake for 55-65 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then remove it and allow it to cool before slicing and serving.
