Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups orange juice (360 mL)
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (65 g)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (5 mL)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (240 mL)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk (120 mL)
  • 1 pinch salt

Directions

  1. Add the orange juice, orange zest, and sugar to a small saucepan.
  2. Heat over medium-low heat for 4–5 minutes, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture reduces slightly. Let cool completely.
  3. Stir the vanilla extract and salt into the cooled orange mixture.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the heavy cream and whole milk.
  5. Pour the orange mixture and cream mixture alternately into 8 popsicle molds to create orange-and-cream layers.
  6. Gently swirl each mold once or twice with a skewer, keeping the orange and cream visibly distinct.
  7. Insert popsicle sticks and freeze for at least 6 hours, or until completely firm.
  8. Briefly run the outside of the molds under warm water, gently remove the creamsicles, and serve immediately.
